How much does scaffolding hire cost?+
Scaffolding is usually priced per elevation and per week. A single-elevation domestic scaffold for a re-roof or gutter job typically starts from a few hundred pounds to erect, plus a weekly hire charge; larger wrap-around or commercial scaffolds cost more. We quote a fixed price after a free site survey, so you know the erect, weekly hire and dismantle costs upfront — no day-rate creep.
How quickly can you put scaffolding up?+
For most domestic jobs we can survey and erect within a few days, and often the very next day for straightforward single-elevation work. Larger or commercial scaffolds that need a bespoke TG20 design or a pavement licence take a little longer because of the council lead time. Tell us your deadline and we'll be straight about what's achievable.
Do I need a licence or pavement permit?+
If the scaffold stands entirely on your own land you don't need a permit. If any part sits on a public highway, pavement or footpath you'll need a licence from the local council, which lasts a set period and carries a council fee. We arrange the council licence for you as part of the job and build the lead time into the schedule.
How long can I hire the scaffolding for?+
The first hire period is usually included for a set number of weeks in the quote, then it continues on a weekly hire charge for as long as your works run. There's no fixed maximum — many re-roofs need a few weeks while larger refurbishments run for months. You only pay the weekly rate until you tell us the job's finished and we dismantle.
Is your scaffolding insured and inspected?+
Yes. We carry public liability and professional indemnity cover, and every scaffold is erected to TG20:21 / TG30 by CISRS-carded scaffolders. It's inspected before hand-over and then re-inspected at least every seven days — and after any alteration or bad weather — with each inspection logged so your site stays compliant.
